Molly: How did you become a Queen?
Hatshepsut: When my husband, who was a pharaoh, passed away, I ruled with my step son, Thutmose III.
Molly: Did you have to make any changes to become a good ruler?
Hatshepsut: I did have to make changes, for example, I wore a fake beard reserved for only pharaohs.
Molly: What made you want to take on the role of a ruler? Any thing from child hood support your decision?
Hatshepsut: Nothing made me feel eager to rule someday, as a child, no. But I did like the sensation of ruling.
Molly: Would you say you took ruling to your advantage?
Hatshepsut: As much as I don't appreciate saying this, yes. I wanted my own obelisk, so my builders built one! I wouldn't say I was too greedy. But I was a little intimidating.
Molly: Thank you for joining us. And that concludes the interview.
