Journal Entry #1:
The god, Anubis was believed to be the god who watched over the dead. He almost always took part in the mummification process. He had a human body and the head of a dog. Since religion was very important to the Egyptians, they took it very seriously. They thought pharaohs were sons of gods and goddesses. Gods were so important, that stories about them were painted onto walls of tombs, temples, and other walls.

Journal Entry #2:
Ancient Egyptians once believed that there was an internal afterlife once someone died. Because of this, the Egyptians wanted to be prepared to make the afterlife easy, having everything you needed. Egyptian priests and other special Egyptians took part in the mummification process. Mesopotamians did not have anything similar to this method. They took out the mummies heart and weighed it against the feather of truth. They believed if the heart was lighter than the feather, the soul of that person would go to heaven.
